SALCO ELECTRIC BLUE STREAK ® (EBS) STAPLES

For use in SALCO Electronic Staplers
Models 100E, 101E, R105, and R106
Equipped with #66/6-8 Stapling Heads**

While for emergency needs, you may purchase standard office staples in your local area for use in our electronic staplers as well as those sold under the brand name "Rapid", we urge you to be certain that the standard office staples you buy are made of FLAT WIRE rather than common round wire. We have found that ROUND WIRE type staples give very poor stapling results in all electronic staplers and will result in jamming of the stapler and premature wear necessitating replacement of the stapling head.

Additionally, we strongly recommend that standard office staples not be used when stapling more than 6-8 sheets of ordinary 20lb. bond paper. These staples are made of low-carbon, soft wire intended for desk-top manual staplers and will buckle and jam when used in an electronic stapler. Again, premature wear of the stapling head will occur and replacement become necessary.

We specifically recommend SALCO Electric Blue Streak Staples be used in our Electronic Staplers.

- Could you give me the full description of the 210/6. I ordered some of these through Lithco and they sent red streak. That is not what the customer wants.

The Salco EBS staples are made from higher carbon [harder] flat wire, rather than soft, round wire. This is to ensure good penetration and consistent, tight clinches when stapling thicker, more dense materials or those with a glossy coating which is very hard.

Softer, standard-type staples are fine for a few sheets of common 20 lb. bond paper, but when denser materials are encountered, tend to jam in the stapling heads which will wear them out prematurely. 90% of all complaints we receive concerning poor stapling performance from [any brand] of electric stapler are the result of poor staple quality. Even in cases where the stapling head is indeed worn out, the initial cause was jamming due to poor staples.

We have no direct knowledge about 'red streak' staples, their specification or quality, beyond noting that they were brought to the US market several years ago in an effort to compete with our proprietary "EBS" products.
We hope this explanation is helpful to you. Thanks for choosing Salco as your Staple Headquarters!
